Dental Implants

Dental implants are one of the best ways to replace missing teeth. This is because they are made from a metal post that is implanted into the jaw bone to serve as a tooth root. In doing this, the artificial tooth has a stable and strong foundation that can last to up to fifteen years or more. Today, more and more patients are choosing dental implants because of their durability, function and appearance to enhance their smile.

What is the Dental Implant Process?

The dental implant process requires multiple visits over several months for a long lasting and successful treatment.

First, you will first need impressions and x-rays to determine if there is enough space for the implant. During oral surgery, the titanium implant will be placed into the jawbone. After the post is surgically implanted, it will take about six months to heal and fuse to the jawbone. Finally, the artificial tooth can be placed on top of the implant. This can take several months to ensure that the artificial tooth or teeth are correctly shaped and colored.

The end results give the patient a strong and confident smile that will last for years. Once the process is complete, you won’t even notice or feel the implant and can show off your smile again.
